Maintenance Gap in Sliding Door Tracks

Sliding doors divide indoor and outdoor spaces in many homes or separate closets from bedrooms. Panels move along upper and lower tracks that hold and guide them during opening and closing.

These tracks previously received regular cleaning. Dust, dirt, pet hair, grit, and small particles built up in the grooves. Maintenance involved running a vacuum cleaner attachment along the length of the tracks, brushing out stubborn accumulations, or wiping the channels with a cloth. This process repeated at intervals.

Cleaning of the sliding door tracks no longer takes place.

The doors stay installed and continue sliding open and shut along the tracks.
